Getting
teams to double their productivity
in half the time.
When there is more than one individual in the business, whether they are
partners or employees, often there are issues that cause stress at
work. Some of the team coaching work centers around awareness of the
company’s vision, no organized plan is in place to implement the process
to achieve the goals, the left hand often doesn’t know what the right
hand is doing, communication isn’t consistent, or job descriptions
aren’t clear.
One of the recent clients realized that the high level of animosity
between his employees was created by perception that some of the team
members were not pulling their weight. Through group coaching we
broke down the priorities of the team and discussed the issues one at a
time. The largest immediate challenge was the fact that some of the team
players weren’t clear on all their job responsibilities and would pass
the responsibility onto someone else because they thought the other
person could do it better.
We were able to discuss the individual’s strengths and weaknesses and
ended up rewriting the job descriptions to capitalize on the
individual’s abilities and the group became much more productive.
Another of my clients had issues with their employees not performing to
their expectations. When the boss was not around, nothing got done.
When I team coached this business, we talked about the mission of the
company and how each individual contributed to the mission. As we got
into the coaching, the individuals were able to come up with things they
could do to further the mission of the company. Building on their
individual strengths and the jobs that the individuals liked to do, the
business started to take on energy of its own.
So how does this Group Coaching work?
We meet with all members of the team for a 2-hour coaching session once
or twice a month. In addition, team members work with the coach
one-on-one with the coach - also once or twice a month.
Our goal is to ultimately increase the productivity of your business.
During the team session, we talk about goals of the whole team. What is
happening now, what is working, what is not working and what can we do
to get where we want to be.
Each person comes to the meeting with his or her own unique selves and
each has strengths that they contribute to the whole team. It’s exciting
watching how each person provides an integral part of the puzzle and how
the team will end up working better than ever before as each learns to
value each other and their contributions.
